Rene A. Sauvageau, P.L.S.
attended the University at Buffalo, Niagara University, and Canisius College. Additionally, Mr. Sauvageau is licensed to practice land surveying in the states of Pennsylvania, Maryland, Arizona, West Virginia, and New York. Further, he is licensed in New York State to include what is known as the “7208n Exemption” to practice professional engineering of a minor nature.
Mr. Sauvageau has extensive experience in the electric power industry, including surveying, engineering, land acquisition, legal department land issues, and more. Sauvageau served as Western New York State Division Chief Surveyor for Niagara Mohawk Power Corporation spanning a 23-year career with that utility. He also contributed his professional engineering expertise in the criminal justice service of the Erie County Sheriff’s Department’s Scientific Division as a deputy police officer between 1979 and 2003. For many years he served on various professional boards such as the Erie-Niagara Chapter of the New York State Society of Professional Engineers, Niagara Frontier Land Surveyors Association, New York State Association of Professional Land Surveyors and Greater Buffalo Board of Professional Land Surveyors.
